Adventures in Home Schooling!

After several years of deliberation and becoming beyond frustrated with our school system, my husband and I made the decision to pull our youngest kids (6th and 7th graders) out of middle school. Over the past four years, we have watched the level of dedication by the teachers and our counties education programs continue to go down hill. This is not to say that all of the teachers my children have come in contact with over the past few years aren’t good at their jobs. The problem stems from the distractions in schools such as bullying, drugs, fighting, and many other issues all of us as parents face with our children, and the affect it is having on our kids education.

After much research and discussion, we pulled our kids from the traditional school program at the end of the first semester, December 2013. January 2014 will be the beginning of our families home school journey. I look forward to sharing our experience with you!
